Named after someone
worth remembering.
This project exists because of one person, and the conversations I'm glad I had — and the ones I wish I'd thought to ask sooner.
The story behind the name
Jozef was my grandfather.
I used to visit him and just talk. He had stories I never tired of hearing — where he grew up, what life was like, the people he loved and the things he'd seen. Each visit felt like being handed something rare.
A few years ago I started thinking: what if these conversations could be preserved properly? Not just remembered, but written down, shaped into something his family could hold onto long after he was gone. I had the idea clearly in my head — but not the skills to build it yet.
So I learned. And this is what I built.
The Jozef Project is named after him. It's not a startup with a growth target. It's a tool built by someone who understands what it feels like to sit with an elderly person and realise, mid-conversation, that you're holding something irreplaceable.

Stories matter more than features
Every decision in this product starts with the same question: does this help capture a better story? Not does it look good, not does it scale — does it help.
This runs at cost, not for profit
Credit packs are priced to cover what the AI costs to run. There is no investor to satisfy, no margin to protect. If that ever changes, we'll say so plainly.
The people using it aren't users — they're families
The people on the other end of this tool are elderly, often unwell, and surrounded by people who love them. We take that seriously in every line of copy and every design decision.
